During this time of the year, pests typically aren’t a big issue as most trees are dormant with very slow growth. The cold weather also keeps bugs and parasites off your bonsai trees. However, once the spring season starts, it also kicks off the pest season. Treating pests during the spring can be difficult. We recommend using preventative measures to prevent infestations.
Year Round Oil is a great alternative to chemical treatments and a great preventative measure from pests.  Year Round Oil uses mineral oil as an active ingredient rather than strong chemicals. Applying it to your trees during the winter will provide a protective coating which will prevent bugs from attaching to your trunks and branches. During spring, Year Round Oil can also be used again to eliminate bugs by smothering them naturally.
