Growing Moss on your Bonsai Tree

Growing Moss

Growing moss on your bonsai tree can be very difficult. However, once you’ve established moss on your bonsai tree, it can grow abundantly and can also be used for transplanting to other bonsai trees.

The easiest way to establish moss on your bonsai tree is to transplant it from another tree. However, if none is available, you can either use moss spores or blend moss (dead or alive) with milk and pour over the base of your tree. Afterwards, keep the soil moist and damp to encourage growth. If kept too dry, the moss will dry up.

Successful moss can make your bonsai tree more aesthetically pleasing as well as hold moisture longer for your bonsai tree during watering.
